Site: www.nanowrimo.org/National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWrMo, is a challenge, to say the least. If you are looking into becoming a writer, then this is the event for you. There are no meetings but there are serious dedications to be made. Don't let this scare you away, though. NaNoWrMo is a life changing event. You complete this challenge, you might hear the holy angels singing 'Hallelujah'. The challenge is this: write a novel in one month. Sounds easy, right? If you think writing 50,000 words in 30 days is easy, then I guess it is. The contest starts November 1st and ends November 30th at 12 am. In this, you will learn not how to write functionally, but how to spew out words. You will learn how to sit down and WRITE. Just write. You'll soon see that, if you wish to write stories, you need to be able to write efficiently. NaNoWrMo will do just this. On the site, you can sign up (by joining) and you can monitor you progress. It will measure your number of words and give you the amount of words you should write every day. You can see other's progress, receive emailed tips from the site owners, and read other's works. If you'd like to turn "I'd like to be an author one day" or "I'd like to write a story one day" into "I'm an author" and "I wrote a story- in one month" then your reading the right thread.
