So, I'm the chick that's writing all the really pushy rules and greetings around the site. Sorry about that.
I made this site because I was bored Friday night and thought I'd get on my job unlike I usually do. Seriously, this was pretty prompt of me. The meeting was Wed. and I made this two days later!
My name is Gillian (as in 'Giraffe' but don't call me that. That would be silly). I'm 16 and I'm a Junior at CHHS. I'm obnoxious and talkative and I like to get on the Internet.
My main style of writing is fiction, leaning toward the teen department. As you can guess, these are the types of books I read (but I'll get into that in a minute). I don't really write anything else. I despise poetry, as many could tell you, and I have little stomach for it. I'll read it but I can't promise a very helpful review (or one at all). I like writing fiction because it really tickles that part of my mind that acts like a little kid (which is most of my mind, by the way). It lets me cut loose and do whatever I very well please. It also tests my ability to keep things simple. I tend to want to over explain things, but if I did that, the story would become confusing. No one likes a confusing story right?
I hope to become an author when I grow up. In all actuality, it's not really 'when I grow up' or 'I hope'. It's 'When I finish this story I've been working on and get off my lazy butt and start planning and-"
Anyways.
Some of my favorite authors of Tamora Pierce (author of "The Protector of the Small" Series and "The Immortals"), Gerald Morris (author of "The Knight's Tale", "The Knight, his Squire, and his Lady", and many others), and Alexandre Dumas (author of "Three Musketeers" and, my favorite, "The Count of Monte Cristo"). My favorite book has yet to be decided. Right now, I'm reading one the very few nonfiction books that I've had the patience to read. It's due to my love for Alexander Hamilton. I'm reading a biography about him and I'm head over heals for this man. Ask me about it some time!
So...I suppose that me!
:]
Oh, I started the site so I'm pretty good at working it. You can ask me for help if you need it. Or Sarah once she makes a username. She's good with this site too.
