Hey y'all! I'm Katherine. Just wanted to introduce myself really...
I'm not that much of a writer, or at least I haven't been lately due to my life being SCHOOL SCHOOL SCHOOL AP PHYSICS VIDEO CLASS DRAMA CLUB, but I did enjoy it back when I did it, even though what I wrote then makes me cringe now. Not much of a reader lately either, for the same reason, at least not of novels. I don't know, I just don't tend to like the big, 1000 page classics it seems everyone else likes to read. My bookshelves are filled, which I adore because Young Adult Lit because they don't try to sound poetic in their language or make you think a ton, they just tell good stories.
I'd kinda like to get back into writing again, especially original fiction (fanfiction, though fun to write, makes me feel like such a freaking NERD). I've written a couple of surrealist poems and very personal diary type free verse things, but I love narrative and would like to write some more of my own. I just need some ideas.
So, yeah! Besides all that, I'm in eleventh grade. My two biggest loves are theater and film, and I hope to work as a film maker someday (For amazingly written film, look to things by Joss Whedon, specifically Firefly and Dr. Horrible). My writing style, in any form, is generally pretty conversational, and I am oddly great at timed writing. Love fantasy, like manga, hate Twilight.
Nice to meet you! ^_^

I don't know why, but as of late, I've really gotten into the classics. I think I'm trying to become well-rounded in my education of literature (seeing as how none of my LA teachers have supplied any sort of education on literature-grammar, very much yes). I've read a few so far and...they're just so different. Don't get me wrong. I love teen fiction. It's one of my favorites. But, the classics are just...they have a certain air about them that, if you let them in, are sort of magical. It sounds silly. That's because it is silly. It feels silly when I read them. It's a very specific high that I very much enjoy.
Hello, Katherine. Very nice to re-meet you.

I went through a big classics kick in middle school- Twain, Verne, a lot of famous dystopia, some others- and some of them were pretty good, but lately nothing's been sucking me in. I like what we just read in La though, this play called No Exit, and I liked Macbeth. It's just I'm not likely to start in on War and Peace any time soon XD
Oh! And I LOVE Poe. Poe poe poe poe poe.....

Oh, yuck. Poe. I respect him as a poet and a story teller, but I've never liked his work.

Joss Whedon is a genius. An evil, horrible, talented genius. I will never forgive him for what happened to Penny. D: Bad Horse was stuck in my head all day today, though. XD You know, the theme song thing. And Firefly is just pure win.

Whedon has a habit of killing off people. I think he hates happy endings.
And I think Dr. Horrible's real evil plans were to sing songs that never really left your mind.
