The book is called A Confederacy of Dunces, and it's my favorite book. It's pretty much impossible to describe, but I normally say that it's about a morbidly obese man selling hot dogs in New Orleans in the sixties while dressed as a pirate and sprouting philosophy. I told you it would be hard to explain. XD
Since this book won the Pulitzer prize, it really surprises me that I have only ever met one other person who knows of it, and that's simply because they knew the person one of the characters is based on.
The book might be a little off putting at first, as the writing style, the characters and diologe are really gonna be like nothing you've ever come across before. As a matter of fact, my signature is a quote from it. It's not anything you should try and find deeper meaning in or even any at all- it's just a stupid, amazingly constructed, and side splittingly hillarious book. I will warn you though- a few things in it might be slightly controversial (As it was written in the sixties, the black character would be considered horribly racist today- even though he wins in the end) but overall it's just freaking funny.
It's totally worth reading ^_^
